Overview

The SECO 4769 Heavy-Duty Tape Measure Series provides durable field measurement for surveying, construction layout, grade checking, equipment setup, and general jobsite use.

Each tape uses an epoxy paint-coated steel blade housed in a rubberized black and high-visibility yellow case. A positive thumb lock holds the blade at the required extension, while the release action allows it to retract when the measurement is complete.

The series is available in 25-foot and 33-foot lengths with multiple graduation configurations, including engineer’s 10ths, metric, and inches.

Epoxy-Coated Steel Blade

Each tape features a steel blade protected by an epoxy paint coating.

The coated construction is intended for regular field use where the tape may be exposed to dirt, dust, moisture, and repeated handling. The steel blade provides a stable measuring surface, while the printed graduations allow measurements to be read directly in the selected scale.

The tape should be cleaned and dried after exposure to wet or dirty conditions before being fully retracted.

Positive Thumb Lock and Release

A positive thumb lock holds the tape blade at the selected extension.

This allows the operator to maintain the measurement without continuously holding the blade in position. The release action disengages the lock and allows the tape to retract into the case.

The blade should be guided during retraction to reduce impact on the hook, case, and internal return mechanism.

Rubberized High-Visibility Case

The tape is housed in a rubberized black and high-visibility yellow case.

The rubberized exterior improves grip during field use, while the yellow accents make the tape easier to locate in a truck, tool bag, or active work area.

Engineer’s 10ths Graduations

All versions in the SECO 4769 series include engineer’s 10ths graduations.

Decimal-foot measurements are commonly used for:
