Description
Overview
The SECO 5700-10 8.5 ft Quick-Release Pole is a professional adjustable survey pole designed for fast setup during GNSS, robotic total station, prism, and construction layout work.
Its Quick-Release locking mechanism allows the pole height to be adjusted efficiently and includes adjustable tension through set screws in the handle. The integrated 40-minute level vial is positioned on the lock, keeping it away from instruments and accessories mounted at the top of the pole.
The powder-coated and silk-screened aluminum pole features dual graduations in engineer’s 10ths and centimeters. It extends to 8.53 ft (2.60 m), closes to 4.97 ft (1.52 m), and includes an adjustable tip for precise pole-height configurations.

Quick-Release Locking Mechanism
The SECO 5700-10 features a Quick-Release locking mechanism designed to make pole-height adjustments fast and efficient.
The operator can release the lock, extend or retract the pole to the required height, and secure it for measurement. This makes the pole well suited for crews who frequently change prism or antenna heights throughout the workday.
Adjustable Lock Tension
The Quick-Release lock includes a set screw in the handle that allows the locking tension to be adjusted.
A second set screw helps keep the internal spring properly positioned. These adjustment points support reliable lock operation and allow the mechanism to be maintained as it experiences normal field wear.
Lock-Mounted 40-Minute Vial
A 40-minute level vial is mounted directly on the locking mechanism.
Positioning the vial on the lock keeps it away from the prism, GNSS receiver, antenna, or other instrument installed at the top of the pole. This makes the vial easier to view without interference from mounted equipment.
The vial provides a visual reference for keeping the pole vertical over the survey or layout point.
Dual 10ths and Centimeter Graduations
The SECO 5700-10 includes dual graduations for working in engineering and metric measurement systems:
- Engineer’s 10ths
- Centimeters
The silk-screened graduations allow the operator to set and confirm the pole height before entering it into a data collector, total station, or GNSS field software.
Adjustable Tip
The pole includes an adjustable tip for fine-tuning the overall pole height.
This allows the pole configuration to be adjusted for specific instrument-height requirements, point conditions, or field procedures. The correct pole height should always be measured and entered into the surveying equipment before collecting data.
Powder-Coated Aluminum Construction
The SECO 5700-10 is manufactured from aluminum for a balance of durability and manageable field weight.
Its powder-coated finish protects the pole surface, while the silk-screened graduations provide clear measurement references. The red and white color combination improves visibility on active jobsites.
Adjustable Working Length
The pole has the following length range:
- Extended length: 8.53 ft (2.60 m)
- Closed length: 4.97 ft (1.52 m)
The adjustable design provides additional reach when needed while remaining compact enough for transportation and storage when closed.
Ideal Applications
- GNSS rover surveying
- Robotic total station operation
- Prism positioning
- Construction layout
- Boundary surveying
- Topographic surveying
- Utility mapping
- Grade staking
- Engineering fieldwork
- General survey measurements
