Overview

The SECO 5129-52-SW Robotics Carbon Fiber Prism Pole is a lightweight telescoping pole designed for robotic total station surveying, construction layout, stakeout, and other precision prism applications.

Its inner pole features dual centimeter and 0.01-foot graduations configured to read directly when using a prism height of 135 mm. A stainless-steel locking pin engages holes spaced every 0.5 ft, providing repeatable fixed-height positions in addition to the adjustable TLV locking mechanism.

The “SW” designation identifies this as a Swiss-Style configuration. A SECO 2090-10 adapter is permanently fixed to the pole for compatibility with appropriate Leica prism equipment. The pole extends to 8.53 ft (2.60 m) and collapses to 4.97 ft (1.52 m).

Swiss-Style Leica Configuration

The “SW” suffix designates the pole as a Swiss-Style model.

The included SECO 2090-10 adapter is fixed to the pole, providing a mounting configuration intended for compatible Leica prism equipment. Because the adapter is permanently installed, it remains correctly positioned and does not need to be attached separately before each setup.

Prism compatibility should be verified according to the specific Leica prism or accessory being used.

Direct-Reading 135 mm Graduations

The pole graduations are configured to read directly when used with a prism height of 135 mm.

This allows the operator to read the effective prism height from the graduated pole without manually adding the standard 135 mm prism dimension. The correct pole height must still be confirmed and entered into the total station or field software before measuring.

Compatible adapters may be used to achieve other prism-height configurations.

Dual Metric and Decimal-Foot Scales

The inner pole includes two measuring scales:

  • Centimeters
  • Decimal feet graduated to 0.01 ft

The dual graduations allow the same pole to support metric and engineering-foot survey workflows.

Stainless-Steel Locking Pin

A stainless-steel pin locks the inner pole at predetermined positions.

The locking holes are spaced every 0.5 ft, providing repeatable height settings and helping prevent the telescoping section from moving after the desired position is selected.

Stainless-steel construction provides durability and corrosion resistance for regular field use.

SECO TLV Lock

The pole also includes SECO’s TLV locking mechanism for securing the inner section.

The TLV lock provides adjustable pole positioning when a height between the fixed locking-pin locations is required. Its integrated 40-minute vial keeps the leveling reference conveniently positioned at the lock.

Integrated 40-Minute Vial

A 40-minute vial is built directly into the TLV lock.

The vial helps the operator keep the prism pole vertical over a survey point, stake, monument, nail, or other reference location. Maintaining a plumb pole positions the prism directly above the intended measurement point.

Carbon Fiber Construction

The carbon fiber pole construction provides a lightweight alternative to comparable aluminum poles.

Reduced pole weight can make the assembly easier to carry and hold during extended robotic surveying and construction layout work.
