Overview
The SECO 5129-52-GT Robotics Carbon Fiber Prism Pole is a lightweight telescoping pole designed for robotic total station surveying, construction layout, stakeout, and other precision prism applications.
The pole is graduated to read directly when used with a 135 mm prism height. Its inner section includes dual centimeter and 0.01 ft graduations, while the outside of the pole features engineer’s 10ths graduations for convenient height reference.
A stainless-steel pin locks the inner pole at fixed positions spaced every 0.5 ft, beginning at 6.5 ft. SECO’s TLV locking mechanism provides additional adjustment and includes a built-in 40-minute vial for keeping the pole vertical during measurements.

Direct-Reading 135 mm Prism Height
The SECO 5129-52-GT is graduated to read directly when used with a prism height of 135 mm.
This allows the operator to read the effective prism height from the pole scale without separately adding the standard 135 mm prism dimension. The final height should still be verified and entered correctly into the total station or field software before measuring.
External Engineer’s 10ths Graduations
The outer pole features engineer’s 10ths graduations for measurements recorded in feet and decimal fractions of a foot.
The external scale provides a convenient reference when setting or checking the pole height during construction layout and robotic total station work.
Dual Inner-Pole Graduations
The inner pole includes two measurement scales:
- Centimeters
- Decimal feet graduated to 0.01 ft
These dual graduations allow the same pole to support metric and engineering-foot surveying workflows.
Other Prism-Height Configurations
Compatible adapters can be used to achieve prism heights other than 135 mm.
The appropriate adapter should be selected according to the prism, mounting connection, and required measurement height. The completed prism height must be confirmed before measurements are collected.
Stainless-Steel Locking Pin
A stainless-steel pin locks the inner pole at predetermined height positions.
The locking holes are spaced every 0.5 ft and begin at a pole height of 6.5 ft. These fixed positions provide repeatable height settings and help prevent the inner section from slipping after the desired height is selected.
SECO TLV Lock
The pole includes SECO’s TLV locking mechanism for securing the telescoping inner section.
The TLV lock allows the pole to be adjusted when the required height falls between the fixed locking-pin positions. This provides both repeatable preset heights and flexible adjustment for other field configurations.
Integrated 40-Minute Vial
A 40-minute vial is built directly into the TLV lock.
The vial helps the operator keep the prism pole vertical over a stake, monument, nail, control point, or other survey reference. Maintaining a plumb pole positions the prism directly above the intended measurement location.
Carbon Fiber Construction
The carbon fiber construction provides a lightweight alternative to comparable aluminum prism poles.
Reduced weight can make the pole easier to carry, extend, and hold during long robotic surveying and construction layout projects.
Adjustable Working Length
