Overview

The Leica CS30 Data Collector is a compact 7-inch Windows field tablet designed for Leica Captivate workflows. It is the entry-level tablet in Leica’s Captivate tablet lineup, offering a lightweight design, competitive performance, and a screen size that balances portability with clear field visibility. Leica describes the CS30 as a lightweight tablet that allows surveyors to move freely while still comfortably viewing detailed field data.

The CS30 is a strong choice for survey crews, construction layout teams, and Leica Captivate users who want a smaller Windows data collector for GNSS, total station, and robotic workflows. It runs Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 64-bit with an Intel Apollo Lake N3550 processor, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB of storage.

Available Versions

The Leica CS30 is available in two versions, depending on the communication range and workflow you need.

CS30 Field Controller

The standard CS30 Field Controller is the base 7-inch Windows tablet configuration. It is ideal for users who need a compact Leica Captivate data collector for standard field data collection, GNSS workflows, file handling, and general Leica instrument control.

This option is best for users who do not need the extended long-range Bluetooth setup for robotic total station operation.

CS30 LTE / LRBT Tablet Field Controller

The CS30 LTE/LRBT version adds LTE and long-range Bluetooth capabilities for more advanced field communication workflows. This is the better choice for users who want a stronger communication range for robotic total stations and mobile connectivity.

Leica’s datasheet lists the CS30 TPS working range with the LR-BT module as typically 1000 m, making this version the preferred option for robotic total station users who need an extended range between the controller and instrument.

Choose the CS30 Field Controller if you want the compact Leica Captivate tablet for standard field use. Choose the CS30 LTE / LRBT Tablet Field Controller if you need the extended communication setup for robotic total station work and want the included GAT25 radio antenna.
