The Spectra Precision DET-2 is a rugged and affordable digital theodolite designed to deliver 2-second angular accuracy for general construction layout, angle measurement, and alignment tasks. Easy to operate and built to withstand tough jobsite conditions, it’s the ideal choice for contractors, survey crews, and layout specialists who need dependable precision without the learning curve of advanced total stations.
The DET-2 features dual backlit LCD displays with large characters and a simple six-button keypad, providing quick access to functions like angle hold, zero reset, percent grade conversion, and backlight control. With vertical axis compensation (3’ tilt range), the instrument ensures consistent, accurate results even when set up on uneven ground. Operators can switch between degrees, gons, mils, or percent grade depending on the task.
The powerful 30x telescope with a 130' field of view and short 1.35 m minimum focus allows precise aiming, while the built-in optical plummet, dual vials, and adjustment tools speed up setup. The system is powered by a NiMH rechargeable battery, with an included alkaline pack for backup—reducing downtime on long days.
