Overview

The SECO 3006 Nylon-Coated Steel Tape Series provides durable, long-distance measurement for surveying, construction layout, site development, utility work, and general field applications.

Each model uses a nylon-coated steel blade designed to withstand years of regular field use. The open-reel case includes a fast-winding crank for efficient retrieval and a hook end for securing the tape while measuring longer distances.

Nylon-Coated Steel Blade

Each tape uses a steel blade protected by a nylon coating.

The coating helps protect the printed graduations and steel surface from the wear associated with repeated field use. This makes the tapes suitable for outdoor measuring where they may encounter dirt, dust, moisture, and rough jobsite conditions.

The tape should be wiped clean and allowed to dry before being fully wound into the reel after use in wet or muddy conditions.

Fast-Winding Crank

An integrated crank allows the tape to be wound back into the case efficiently after a measurement is complete.

The fast-winding design is especially helpful with the longer 100-foot, 200-foot, 30-meter, and 60-meter tape lengths, reducing the time required to retrieve and organize the blade.

The tape should be guided during retrieval to prevent twisting, kinking, or uneven winding.

Hook-End Design

Each model includes a hook at the end of the tape.

The hook can be secured around a compatible edge, stake, nail, or other reference point to hold the zero end in position while the tape is extended.

This allows one operator to complete many measurements without requiring another person to hold the starting end.

Open-Reel Housing

The open-reel configuration keeps the long steel blade organized while allowing dirt and moisture to clear more easily than with a fully enclosed case.

Its high-visibility yellow housing makes the tape easier to locate around active jobsites, survey vehicles, and equipment storage areas.

Decimal-Foot Models

The 100-foot and 200-foot models are graduated in:
