The Schonstedt u-LOCATE is a user-friendly pipe and cable locator engineered for quick, accurate underground utility detection. Designed to prevent accidental strikes and enhance jobsite safety, this locator is ideal for contractors, field service teams, and public works crews needing fast results without complex training.
The u-LOCATE supports active locating at 82 kHz, passive power detection (50/60 Hz), and Sonde locating (512 Hz) for tracing non-metallic pipes using inspection tools. With left/right guidance arrows, signal strength, and depth readout up to 19 ft (5.8 m), it delivers actionable data in real-time. The lightweight receiver is IP65-rated, weather resistant, and runs up to 20 hours on six AA batteries.
About the Transmitter
The included 1-watt transmitter applies an active tracing signal to conductive utilities via direct connection, inductive clamp, or built-in induction antenna. It's built to withstand tough environments with an IP54-rated housing, easy-to-use controls, and long battery life powered by four D-cell batteries. Signal strength is adjustable, allowing users to optimize performance for each locating job.
