Description

Overview

The SECO 5700-20 12 ft Quick-Release Pole is a professional adjustable survey pole designed for fast prism positioning, construction layout, robotic total station work, and general field surveying.

Its two-section aluminum design extends to 11.81 ft (3.60 m) and collapses to 5.18 ft (1.58 m) for transportation and storage. The Quick-Release locking mechanism allows rapid height adjustments and includes adjustable tension through set screws in the handle and spring assembly.

A 40-minute level vial is positioned on the lock, away from instruments mounted at the top of the pole. Dual graduations in engineer’s 10ths and centimeters, an adjustable tip, and a durable red-and-white finish support precise everyday field use.

Quick-Release Locking Mechanism

The SECO 5700-20 features a Quick-Release locking system designed for fast pole-height adjustment.

The operator can release the lock, extend or retract the pole, and secure it at the required height without repeatedly turning a conventional twist-lock knob. This is useful for crews who frequently change prism heights throughout the workday.

Adjustable Lock Tension

The Quick-Release mechanism includes a set screw in the handle that allows the locking tension to be adjusted.

A second set screw helps keep the internal spring properly positioned. These adjustment points support reliable lock operation and allow the mechanism to be maintained as it experiences normal field wear.

Lock-Mounted 40-Minute Vial

A 40-minute level vial is located directly on the locking mechanism.

Positioning the vial away from the top of the pole helps prevent interference from a mounted prism, GNSS accessory, or other surveying equipment. The vial provides a clear visual reference for keeping the pole vertical over the intended measurement point.

Two-Section Extended-Reach Design

The SECO 5700-20 uses two adjustable sections to provide the following working range:

  • Extended length: 11.81 ft (3.60 m)
  • Closed length: 5.18 ft (1.58 m)

Its additional reach makes the pole suitable for elevated prism setups, grade changes, excavations, and other applications where a standard-height pole may not be sufficient.

Dual 10ths and Centimeter Graduations

The pole includes dual measuring scales for engineering and metric workflows:

  • Engineer’s 10ths
  • Centimeters

The silk-screened graduations allow the operator to set and confirm the pole height before entering it into a total station, data collector, or field software.

Adjustable Tip

The SECO 5700-20 includes an adjustable tip for fine-tuning the overall pole height.

This allows the pole configuration to be adjusted for specific prism-height requirements, surface conditions, and field procedures. The final pole height should always be verified before collecting measurements.

Powder-Coated Aluminum Construction

The pole is manufactured from aluminum and finished with a durable powder coating.

Silk-screened graduations provide clear height references, while the red-and-white finish improves visibility across active construction sites and survey projects.

Ideal Applications

  • Robotic total station surveying
  • Conventional total station surveying
  • Prism positioning
  • Construction layout
  • Grade staking
  • Boundary surveying
  • Topographic surveying
  • Utility layout
  • Excavation measurements
  • Engineering fieldwork
  • Extended-height survey setups
