Description

The Spectra Geospatial SP100 GNSS Receiver is a rugged, high-precision solution designed to deliver reliable positioning in the most demanding environments. Powered by Trimble® Z-Blade™ multi-constellation GNSS processing and triple-frequency satellite support, the SP100 excels in both urban and rural job sites, maintaining centimeter-level accuracy even near trees, buildings, and obstructions. It supports all major constellations including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS, giving surveyors consistent results across RTK, network RTK, and static workflows.

The standard SP100 model includes IMU-based tilt compensation, enabling accurate surveying on sloped or obstructed surfaces without needing to level the pole. This allows you to safely and efficiently capture measurements near roads, fences, buildings, and water boundaries. Lite configurations come without IMU tilt for teams needing core GNSS functionality at a lower cost, making them ideal for traditional, budget-conscious RTK workflows.

With IP68 certification, the SP100 withstands harsh field conditions, including 2-meter pole drops and full submersion in water. Long-lasting battery performance, internal data logging, and wireless communication make this receiver a flexible, field-ready choice. Paired with Spectra Origin field software and Survey Office, the SP100 is ready for full field-to-office GNSS surveying.

Key Features:

  • IMU Tilt Compensation (Standard models only): Measure up to 30° tilt without leveling
  • Lite Models Available: Cost-effective configuration without tilt compensation
  • 672 GNSS Channels: Tracks all major constellations and frequencies
  • Triple-Frequency GNSS: Enhanced signal performance and faster fix times
  • RTK Accuracy: 8 mm + 1 ppm horizontal; 15 mm + 1 ppm vertical
  • High-Precision Static: 3 mm + 0.1 ppm horizontal
  • Trimble RTX Support: 2 cm horizontal accuracy with convergence in <3 min
  • Ultra-Rugged Build: IP68 certified, drop-tested from 2 meters
  • Long Battery Life: 5.5 hours per charge with removable Li-Ion batteries
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi, USB, and support for Lemo cable data transfer
  • Integrated Radio Options: UHF and 900 MHz variants available (model dependent)

Choosing the Right Radio Option (410–470 MHz vs 450/900 vs None)

The Spectra Geospatial SP100 GNSS Receiver is available in multiple radio configurations depending on how you plan to run your RTK setup. Choosing the correct option is important because it directly impacts range, flexibility, and how your crew operates in the field.

410–470 MHz UHF Radio (Most Common Base/Rover Setup)

The 410–470 MHz option is the standard UHF radio configuration used in most RTK base and rover setups.

  • Best for dedicated base + rover workflows
  • Strong, reliable signal for long-range communication
  • Ideal for construction sites, open terrain, and rural areas
  • Widely used and compatible with most UHF GNSS systems

This is the go-to choice if you plan to run your own base station and want consistent performance without relying on cellular networks.

450/900 MHz Dual Radio (Maximum Flexibility)

The 450/900 MHz option provides expanded radio capability by supporting both frequency ranges.

  • Best for mixed fleets or multi-frequency environments
  • Useful when working with different brands or legacy systems
  • Provides added flexibility for varying jobsite requirements
  • Can help adapt to regional frequency preferences or restrictions

This option is ideal if you work across multiple crews, regions, or projects where radio compatibility may vary.

No Internal Radio (Network RTK / NTRIP Use)

The “no radio” configuration removes the internal UHF radio and is intended for network-based positioning.

  • Best for NTRIP / cellular RTK workflows
  • Lower cost option if radio is not needed
  • Ideal in areas with reliable cellular coverage (CRTN, VRS, etc.)
  • Reduces weight and power usage slightly

This is the best choice if you primarily connect to a correction network and do not plan to run your own base station.
